What not to do when selling cars...
Just one thing.
Don't piss me off.
Let's rewind. My husband and I decided it was time to buy a new car. Just for shits and giggles. Well, no... not really... because my infamous Alero is 5 years old and because the Speed 6 is out and my husband hasn't seen something so hot since... well... since he met me ;-)
So we go to a dealership that's well-known in the area. I'll refrain from using their name until the saga is over - but for those of you who know me... you'll remember I starred in one of their commercials; and am quite famous in the area for telling folks how much I liked buying a car from them.
Which is why we're back there. We have bought 2 cars from that family of dealers and have been fairly satisfied.
So you'd think... third time's a charm. Right?
Not really.
We went there a few weeks ago to check out what they had. We liked what we saw but we did the usual, thanks and we'll be back deal.
We waited a few weeks... hemmed and hawed - and finally threw in the towel and went back to buy it.
To make a long story short, we walked in and said - let's do it. easy sale. but we didn't like the deal they proposed, they lowballed the trade in for my car. so we left. Again... part of the game... annoying as it is.
Next day we get a phone call from the sales guy - give them another shot. Sure.
They lay down another deal...still not good enough.
I make my demands, the sales guy actually agrees - we go to sign the paperwork.
We get there and suddenly he misunderstood what we agreed on. He says he'll try to make it work, we agree - fill out the paperwork... Get to the point where we talk about what's still missin'...and the finance guy looks at us funny... and suddenly the deal goes sour.
So we leave. See ya wouldn't wanna be ya.
The saga continues and now, I'm pissed and ready to throw in the towel. But I'm almost too pissed at this point not to give them a piece of my mind. So I'm not sure how this fairytale is going to end.
Dave's pouting - but now it's about principle. If this is how they treat a celebrity customer, I feel bad for everyone else going there to buy a car.
Think they'll ask me to be in their next commercial? Stay tuned.
Cheers, S.

Have you ever seen a more beautiful child?

You're only allowed to answer yes if you're a father or mother - because, I know, our children are all the most beautiful in the world.
Lately Jocelyn has been learning about vanity - and she's obsessed with checking herself out in the mirror.
Still trying to figure out where she gets that from. Any ideas?

Didn't I say I was done....?

Well not quite.
I wasn't sure if I was diggin the green shades. I like them... but suddenly the room got soooo busy. Esp. with all of the toys sprawled across the room. Even when the room was tidied up, it still looked busier than Penn Station on a Friday afternoon.
SO...I ordered the same shades in fuchsia... to "match" the other shades. Catch is they aren't the same material so the color match isn't 100%. But still, I think it looks less busy.
If I didn't think my husband would kick my ass... I'd order two more of these same shades for the side windows and replace those. But I'd probably be served with divorce papers.
Hmmm...
Are there ANY metrosexuals out there willing to fess up and anti up their opinion?

Useless info about me...
I really don't have anything constructive to say tonight... so here's one of those silly emails with things you probably don't really give a shit about.

My husband was totally right!
Mark this day on your calendar. I am openly admitting that my husband was right.
A month or so ago he asked to get DVR for our television. I wasn't too keen on the idea cuz I figured he was using it just to tape NASCAR events or his silly Galactica show he loves to watch. I didn't think I'd see much use of it.
Boy was I wrong.
It's probably the electronic device I use most, second only to my computer. More so than my Ipod - even better than my cell phone - simply said... it rocks my world.
I love the fact that I can start watching my shows whenever. I don't have to rush to exercise before 8pm anymore because I just turn on the TV with a quick click of the remote...Then, I can zoom through my show. I skip all of the commercials and even if I start 20 minutes late, I still end up netting out going to bed around the same time! It's flippen awesome! If I don't make it to the TV that night... I can watch it the next day... or the next day... it's that easy. And it's pretty easy for me to figure out how to use too - I don't have to write the instructions down on my hand before my husband leaves.
Never have I ever been so enthused about something that doesn't make my hair look better or make me look thinner.
Right on, Dave!

I'll show you mine if you show me yours!
http://www.puritytest.net/
I took this test a few years ago and I think I got like a 68. I took it again today and like a fine wine, I seem to get better with age...Though I think there's still room for improvement... ;-)
Show me your score and I'll share mine.

So I got on the scale this morning...
Nothing makes a woman cringe more than getting on the scale in the morning. Especially after a weekend consisting of an all-night drinking fest on Thursday...followed by Indian food on Friday...topped by Japanese on Saturday...and Chinese on Sunday. Hello, just roll me over and call me Bessie!
But I have to be real with myself. In a month or so we're going to be opening the pool - which means my fat ass will be getting into a bathing suit whether I like it or not.
So this morning I got up... went pee, thought about the scale... decided to wait till I do my hair....did my hair... decided to wait till after makeup....did my makeup...decided to wait till tomorrow.
I walked towards the bedroom... felt guilty...got undressed and came into the room with the scale (which I keep in a room which always has the door closed, so I don't have to SEE the scale god forbid get on it). Butt-ass naked I walk into the forbidden room... got a snide "hey now" grin from my husband...and then he sees where I'm headed and he suddenly tenses up. "WHY are you suddenly doing that?" He asks me.
Cuz I'm crazy I thought. But really...I needed to know. For shits and giggles. To make this the Monday morning it should be after losing an hour of my weekend... miserable. I braced myself for the worst. I got on the scale. I closed my eyes. I waited a few seconds. I opened one eye, looked down...opened the other and screamed...
...and hollered...and jumped for joy. I've only gained a whopping 4 lbs since I last weighed myself in early 2005! Could it be right? I got off the scale, turned it back on. Got on again. Same! Shit! Dave got on it too - hoping my "success" would mean a good number for him... I thought he would tell me the scale was broken... but while he wasn't thrilled with his number (sorry hun), he said it looked like an accurate read.
Wow. There is a god. So I'm super pumped...and I'm going to go now and work off my celebratory curry shrimp, peanut butter bar and cool whip, with some high intensity tae bo. IT WORKS!
Cheers,
Bessie

Real men don't get manicures...

Or at least - that's what most men say. Or at least I think they do. Or okay, my very not so metrosexual husband says it. But I don't know if it's true. My grandfather used to do it. Maybe he still does. My great uncle got manicures too - and they're real men!
And why don't more men get pedicures? I don't see any reason they shouldn't... I mean feet are feet and you never know when you're going to have to show them! What about when you're at the beach walking in the sand... don't you look at other people's feet? Well I'm looking! I mean nasty toes are - well, nasty!
A penis shouldn't stand in the way of having well-kept nails and toes!
Cheers,
S.
(who just got back from a morning at the spa, getting a french manicure and pedicure - see...)
