The lost pound was found

I lied to you all when I said this year I wouldn't obsess about my weight.

Like last year, here I go again, joining weight watchers and enjoying a few weeks of happy weigh ins - when suddenly... out of no-where... comes.... da da da da... the plateau. The weeks of minus point 2... up point 2.... down point 8.... up one point two. Will it ever end?

Yes, it will. Why? Because this year I decided to join the gym! I'm on day two of my new regimen and it feels good. I even felt good about the constant sweat pouring down my face. Each minute that went by was another few sips of beer from last night that was being flushed from my body... ahhh..

Of course my husband thinks this will be a waste of money...so I'm excited at another opportunity to prove him wrong! Skinny bitches, here I come!

Cheers,

S.

Thank God for your blessings.

Monday morning I drove into work and it was another typical morbid Monday morning.

Little did I know the morbidity would quadruple by the time I walked into my office.

A little past 7:30 a.m., I found out a coworker and her husband were killed in a car accident the day before.

Now I didn't know her all that well. We were on a few teams together, said hello in passing, but we weren't best friends by any means. But still - she and her husband were killed.

They left behind 3 children. Her youngest is the same age as my daughter. I read part of the obit and my mascara had already started running. By the end I was hysterically balling. All for a family I barely know, but hurt the world for.

It's a reality check for us all to remember that we're not invincible.

So slow down a little when you drive tomorrow. Think about your family and friend's tears if not your own.

I hope everyone who reads this lives life to the fullest. And please send your hearts and prayers out to those three children who won't get tucked in by mommy and daddy tonight, or ever again.

Cheers,

S.

Another shitty subject!

Holy shit. (Literally!)

I never thought it would happen.

My daughter is potty trained.

Not 100% - but not 25%. Not even 50%. Maybe more like 92%.

I thought the day would never come! I thought I'd be sending a kindergarten teacher pullups along with a note that says, "My kid won't pee on the potty!"

But now my kid pees and poops on the potty - just about every time!

Hallelujah!

Maybe I'm not so bad at this mommy stuff after all!

Yay me! Sing it with me... pee pee on the potty! Yea! poopie on the potty! Woo!

Cheers,

S.
