My husband is injured.
It is so painful, Dave can barely shift his car into 5th gear without cringing. He has trouble picking up my 46 pound child (well.. who doesn't)... His arm is in constant pain and he's continuously reminding us he has a great command of 4-letter words when he moves his right arm.
He'll likely have to see a doctor - or else find some way to rest his arm from any major motion or activities.
Oh - how did he get this injury you want to know?
From playing with his Wii.
Okay, when you read that you might chuckle, now say that statement out loud and it's even funnier!
"Dave hurt his arm from playing with this wii!"
Of course I'm not surprised. He was playing with his wii for hours and hours last weekend. I tried to stop him on New Year's but he kept going. Even his friends were playing with his wii. His dad, my dad, my mother, everyone was playing with his wii! And last saturday both of my parents were over playing with his wii! Yea, I admit, even I love to play with his wii!
While true, playing with your wii can be strenuous...has one ever truly hurt himself from playing with his (or her) wii? To the point where you had to see a doctor? Have you ever been hurt from playing with YOUR wii? If so, I'd love to hear how playing with your wii hurt you! Maybe we can compare stories about our wiis.
Cheers, S.

Happy 2008!
Happy New Year everyone. It's been a few pounds since I last wrote - LOL - but thought I'd start off the New Year on a good note.
Our local newspaper is asking for submissions related to the topic, "What's the sweetest thing someone ever did for you..." and it'll run in the paper on valentine's day... So I just thought I'd share my editorial.
Oh, and I'm also hoping my "sweetness" will get me something platinum and diamondy come valentine's day - wink wink.
Cheers,
S
--==--
I am an only child, and growing up we had two cats, Swee-t (pronounced Sweetie) and Sugar, who both lived to be over 20 years old.
When I was in college, Swee-t, whom I affectionately refer to as my brother, became extremely ill, and he had to be brought to the Tufts Veterinary Clinic outside of Worcester on life support.
I was living on-campus in Springfield, so it was not possible for me to visit my brother every day. A guy I was dating at the time went to school in Worcester and I called him and told him the bad news about Swee-t. He never had pets so he didn't quite seem to understand, but he could tell I was torn up that I couldn't go to visit Swee-t. So when I begged him if he would be so kind as to go visit Swee-t for me, he was nice enough to say yes. But before he left to visit, I had one last request of my boyfriend. "Would you please sing him his favorite song - the Itsy Bitsy Spider," I asked. Reluctantly, but promising to do as I asked, my boyfriend drove out to visit Swee-t.
When he got back to his dorm room after the visit, my boyfriend called to report Swee-t was doing well and he had enjoyed the song. I half believed that he actually did it, and a big part of me thought he was fibbing; that is until my parents received a phone call from a nurse at the Clinic.
"We thought it was the sweetest thing in the world when your future son-in-law came in and sang to Swee-t," the woman said.
"Future son-in-law," my mother gasped, "Who's that?"
"Well,"said the woman, "A young man came in claiming to be your future son-in-law and spent a good amount of time with Swee-t and we all heard him singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider."
My mom called and asked me if I knew anything about this - and my heart just melted. And even though wedding bells were many years away for me, how could I not think about marrying this guy? After all, he sang to my cat!
Lucky for me, Swee-t recovered just fine and lived long enough to see his"sister" marry the boy who came and sang to him. And while my boyfriend, now husband, retired from singing to cats, he does enjoy chanting the occasional ditty along with our 4-year-old daughter, who now has two cats of her own. Hopefully she'll find a "sweetie" like her daddy some day, too!
